Amanda
Sonora High Graduate 2007
While Amanda was applying to universities, literally at the 11th hour the night before the CSU and UC applications were due she was trying to decide on a major. The top selection was often undeclared. When it came to her San Luis Obispo application she was forced to choose a major. One major in particular caught her eye, "Biomedical Engineering," mainly because it sounded so "over the top." She selected that as her major on her application as a bit of laugh, never really thinking she would be accepted. When she was accepted it became her first choice. Now she is a Biomedical Engineer and works for Advanced Brain Monitoring.

Reid
Sonora High Graduate 2007
When Reid was in his junior year of high school he was encouraged to take AP Physics by his counselor Stacy Kroeze, who recognized he had an aptitude for math. This choice led him on a path where he now finds himself as a Master's Degree student in Mechanical Engineering at San Diego State University. He is also an officer in their rocket club where they launch their projects in the Mojave desert.
